Susan Mortensen Turley - May 7, 1983 - Dec 5, 2008

I couldn't sleep...
My heart is so very full right now. My dearest friend, Susan, passed away tonight. She was diagnosed with colon cancer this summer and after a short but very hard battle, she was taken back to our Father in Heaven tonight. Susan was just married in January of this year. I was blessed with the opportunity to be at her sealing to Justin. It was a very happy day for Susan. She had been waiting awhile for that special moment, and I was so glad she finally had it. Unfortunately, despite all hope she didn't have much time with her sweet beau. If anyone knows Susan, they know she was a fighter. She ran cross country for U of A and was always competing in sports and the like. I know she thought she would be able to beat this cancer - that she could be the exception to all of the statistics, but sadly, she lost the battle. She was just too good of a person and her Heavenly Father needed her. She was such a wonderful, kind, funny, beautiful, Christlike person and she will be forever missed. She has taught me to live each day to the fullest and to serve all those around me. I am so grateful for her friendship and pray that her loving husband and family will find comfort during this very sad time. I know that through the knowledge and testimony of the plan of salvation, we can all find peace as we mourn for her loss. Please pray for her sweet Justin and loving family.

Sus - you will forever be in our hearts. I love you!

Christmas Card

Yesterday, we were able to meet my siblings at the temple to take our annual family Christmas pics. Fortunately, we didn't need any pics with all the grandkids (those are so crazy and impossible to get everyone smiling!!) I had my sis take our pics, and we took their pics for them (what can I say? - I'm cheap, and don't want to pay anyone:D ). I was so happy that quite a few turned out. I think it's mostly because we have a semi-decent camera. I know everyone is getting into photography these days, and I have to admit that I am one of them. I love taking pics!!! It's so much fun!
Any who, I don't know why but I kinda stress out about christmas cards each year. I know it's not a big deal, but I guess it's just one more thing to do during the holidays. Fortunately, this year I really didn't have to stress, and I'm so glad I got one out of one hundred Christmas-to-do-things done! Phew!!
