The Makings of a Perfect Day... or Week!

Bahaha. Yeah Right!

I turned the big 2-7 this week and am happy to say that I had the BEST birthday ever!! I think the older you get the less you care about your birthday. That having been said, you expect less so when you do get something you're more appreciative and feel pretty darn cool. That's how I felt this last week, at least. On Tuesday, we went out to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. We thought it would be fun for Lily with all the fish, fake elephants and gorillas, etc. Boy were we wrong!! She LOVED it at first, but we forgot there was a fake tropical thunderstorm every 20 minutes or so where all the lights flashed and there was thunder, etc. That freaked her out a little bit. By the second time it happened, she was trying to unbuckle herself out of the high chair and kept saying, "bye, bye..." We ate real quick and were sure to be out of there before the third storm hit. :)
On Friday, Lorin took a half day so we could really celebrate then. My mom kindly agreed to watch Lily so Lo and I could bowl, hit a movie and grab dinner. We went bowling (which was SOOO FUN!) and called my mom to check on Lily afterwards. She woke up way too early from a nap and had been crying for the last 20 minutes wandering the house and calling, "mommy." We decided we should go and pick her up and finish the date later. Fortunately, we were able to do just that and hit CPK that night and the movie the next day. We saw "Wolverine," which was pretty darn cool. It was just so much fun, and I'm glad I got to spend that time with Lily and Lorin. I was also able to celebrate with both fams which is always so great!! I've decided that I had everything I could want this past week....

Who said birthdays get more lame as you got older? Not mine!!!

I finally did it!

I finally did it! I bought my first REAL vinyl cutter awhile back, and am just now reporting the good news. What does this mean? It means I will have all the vinyl in the world for all my silly crafts. This also means that you can come and get cheap vinyl from me whenever you want. I hope to have Font and Vinyl Colors available for all to see shortly so I will keep you posted on that. In the meantime, check out this beauty! Gotta love it!

Craft night, anybody?

Catch up

This month flew!!! We really were so busy, and to be honest, I was just too darn lazy to blog!!! SOO, here are a few pics of what we were up to this past month. I'm really hoping June is a little more relaxing...

Lily got to meet Baxter at the D-Backs game... we weren't sure if she would be scared or not but she WASN'T. She ran up to him and gave him a big fat hug and kiss!
This is a pic of Evan on the JUMBO-TRON at Chase Field. The DBacks invited his baseball team to the game Tues. night to honor them for winning state so we all went to watch.
Slip-N-Slide on Memorial Day with Alina's boy, Ezra.

This is also on Memorial Day... she's way into sunglasses now. I LOVE it!!

At Evan's graduation.... which we missed. We tried going to Lorin's bro's, Ryan's, first because he was speaking. We got there an hour early so by the time it started Lily was soaked and shivering so we left. Lame, I know... we went to Evan's and got there just as it ended. Even more lame!!

Our garden... the plants are about twice that size now... we're growing tomatoes, watermelon and zuccini!
Corona won the state championship so were busy going to all of Evan's games which we LOVE and will miss A TON!!

Hallelujah!!

My Sweet Lily
Hailey - Tyler's little girl
Hannah - Tara's girl (and the only one who looked good in every pic!)
Emma - Tyler's oldest girl
Hunter - Tara's little boy
The grandkids - Hunter, Lily, Hailey, Emma, Hannah & Camden.
Camden was tired so Kellyn had to take individual pics later that day of him, and the newest addition, Lucy (Tyler's two week old) wasn't there under doctors orders of staying indoors for awhile.

I just started feeling A LOT better this week, and I CANNOT tell you how great it feels! I was thinking it was about time since I'm now over 20 weeks, but I am just grateful that things have gotten a little easier for me. I even agreed to be in a BOUTIQUE next week. Someone asked if I would be a vendor and I knew it would mean lots of work this next week but I was actually up for it. I almost forgot how much I loved doing crafts just because I haven't been feeling good for so long. Any who, I'm just glad that I'm half way there and that I have more energy for cooking, hanging out, and feeling semi-normal.
I'm also happy it's MOTHER'S DAY. Lorin & Lily got my mom and I gift certificates for a pedicure and I cannot wait to do that. My siblings and I also pitched in and put our husbands to work building a custom trash can to give her today. I don't have pics of it just yet but will post them later. It's huge, and it's red and apple green and it's awesome! The guys did such a great job. We also got together and took pics of all the kids and are updating all the pictures in my mom's sewing room. FUN FUN!! Any way, I hope everyone else has a WONDERFUL MOTHER'S DAY!! You all deserve being pampered, and I hope you are today!!

P.S. I will post more info about the boutique this week. I hope everyone can come to it this Saturday!!

Lorin's two bits:

I'm sorry, Kristyn, that I don't like using adverbs or 15th century names for the names of my children. I guess looking out for the well being and self esteem of my children as they go through the harsh elementary school years is now being "picky"! Trust me, my kids will thank me! Remember, This is coming from a guy with a girls name!
